Sharing some of the spots that I love or have
I often get asked the question, “since you live this healthy lifestyle, does that mean you never go out for dinner anymore?” Let me make something very clear… Living well and making my health a priority is not about deprivation of any sort. I love food and have always loved food, I now just have a much healthier relationship with food.
Although I absolutely lovoooovvve creating yummy meals in my own kitchen, I also very much enjoy going out to enjoy a beautiful meal with loved ones as well and I doubt that will ever change. So to answer that question, no I do not lock myself in my house and never go out for dinner anymore, rather, I find eateries that focus on real whole food, support local farming (as much as possible) and compose dishes that appeal to all of my senses. Sharing a fabulous meal with friends and family is one of the things that bring me great joy, so why on earth would I stop doing this???? Duummmb! A great dining experience in or out of my home not only nourishes my physical body, it feeds my soul, so I will keep on doing it 🙂
Friends, please don’t think that when you choose to live a healthier lifestyle, that it is the end of your social life, especially if you are a mega foodie like myself. There are so many restaurants/food trucks/Chefs out there who are focused on creating plates with real ingredients, you just need to do your research sometimes. Stop telling yourself that in order to live a healthy lifestyle that there needs to be a one or the other – eating at home or eating out. Quite frankly, you can still do both if you choose.
Since I have had so many questions about eating out when living a healthy lifestyle, I decided to share some of the spots that I love or have stumbled upon, where you can go and enjoy a meal without compromising your lifestyle and/or treat yourself one in a while.
